Our Company

Gourmet Walks, LLC

We founded our company on the principle that Americans are more curious than ever about food, and that San Francisco is the ideal place to provide a hands-on education. From the Ferry Building Marketplace to the dim sum shops of Chinatown to the authentic taquerias in the Mission, visitors to our city can enjoy fresh food from cultures around the world, made with the highest quality ingredients. But you may have questions – why is one chocolate bar $8 and the other just $2? How is cheese made? Why is sour dough sour? Our knowledgeable and entertaining guides will make sure you have fun while sharing our city’s food secrets.

Our founder, Andrea Nadel, is a former educator who has always had a passion for food. She has been exploring San Francisco for over 7 years, sampling the best that each neighborhood has to offer. During that time she has made connections with shopkeepers and food artisans who have helped her design unique tours.

Andrea has served twice as a judge at the San Francisco Chocolate Salon and was a panelist at the Taste TV Chocolate Seizure event. She writes about chocolate regularly on her blog and has presented on chocolate at Macy’s Cellar.

When not leading tours, Andrea can be found writing about food and cooking ambitious dinners.

Andrea is a licensed tour guide in San Francisco.

OUR GUIDES

Meet Brenna
Brenna is a California native who grew up among the vineyards in Napa Valley. When not leading tours, she works for her family’s downtown contemporary art gallery. An aspiring writer, Brenna now lives in a shared artist community in Oakland -- a 19th century converted creamery. Her favorite chocolate bar is Dolfin’s Milk Chocolate with Masala.

Meet Jesica
Like Andrea, Jesica hails from New England but has lived in the Lower Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco since 2005. Jesica is a big fan of local, sustainable, low impact food businesses. A woman of many talents, she is also producing an animated children’s television show. Jesica’s favorite chocolate bar is the Vosges Oaxaca.
Meet Anita
Anita, a West coast transplant, grew up in New York and went to school in Boston. She has completely embraced the "warmer" weather, the lovely neighborhood eateries and bike riding through the city. When not leading tours, Anita is cooking up feasts with friends and doing yoga. She lives in Duboce Triangle and her favorite chocolate piece is Michael Recchuiti's jasmine tea truffle.
