LOVED IT! LEARNED A LOT! *****
I highly recommend the Chocolate Tour, it was really great fun and very informative. We actually met one of the artisan chocolatiers at his store and went to 5 other shops that were all equally delicious but different, unique, and from all different countries. The Tour guide is super friendly and provided not only great chocolate history & lore but San Francisco history as well, so that was a bonus. The walk is at an easy pace for everyone and there were plenty of FREE samples, more than I could eat that day! So bring your camera and comfy shoes, and pick out some treats for gift giving or for yourself later as you visit the shops- these are some very special chocolates you cant get just anywhere. I’m a serious connoisseur and I have only seen most of these chocolates in NYC or Paris. San Francisco really impressed me!

WHAT A GREAT TOUR!!!!!! *****
We loved this tour!!! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about chocolate and about the city, she set a great pace, there were plenty of stops along the way to sightsee or rest, and the chocolate was phenomenal!!!! This is a great tour for visitors - it starts near the Ferry Building and ends near Union Square, two places most tourists want to visit anyway. It was a very easy walk, suitable for almost any age or level of fitness. And there was so much chocolate to taste that we ended up saving some for later in the day! What a great introduction to some of San Francisco's finest chocolates and chocolate merchants!!!!!!!! I can not say enough good things about our experience with Gourmet Walks in San Francisco!!!!

HAD A BLAST! *****
This tour was not only educational but a lot of fun and so much chocolate. I went on the tour thinking I would see a few chocolate places and learn a little more about the history and San Francisco. But I got a lot more then that. Not only do you get to tour 5-7 chocolatiers you also get samples from everyone. I don't think that I have ever tasted so much good chocolate in my life. I would recommend this tour to anyone, it was well worth the money spent on the tour. When I return in September to San Fran I will be taking this tour again.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT *****
The gourmet walk chocolate tour is a great way to do something different in San Francisco. It is well organized and staffed with interesting guides. Some of the places visited might be familiar, others will be new. If you like chocolate, you will find out about many locations wher you can get your favorite, particularly if your favorite is a not mass produced. If you live in the bay area and are looking for something different to offer family/friends who are visiting, this is a great choice.

EXCELLENT FUN AND CHOCOLATE *****
I'm a San Francisco native, but I learned interesting new things about San Francisco history, saw new places, and, of course, sampled great chocolate! Our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and had clearly put a lot of time and thought into structuring and pacing the tour, developing relationships with chocolate vendors, and our overall experience. I also brought my 74-year old mom along for the tour, and she really enjoyed it as well and found the walking manageable.

My 17 year old son and I absolutely loved this tour. It was educational and so so tasty! It made us both want to learn even more about chocolate.

INTERESTING, UNIQUE, AND FUN! *****
Andrea, the tour guide, is very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. The tour provided everything it promised. It may seem costly at first glance, but the time Andrea spends with you, and the number of samples you get, make it well worth the money. Participants need to be prepared to walk, but the walk is leisurely and not terribly strenuous. I discovered places that I'd driven past or walked past without even knowing they were there. I highly recommend it to tourists and locals alike.

GREAT TOUR FOR CHOCOLATE LOVERS! *****
I really enjoyed the tour and the very nice guide, Andrea. She tells you about the history of chocolate, about the production process, and about the history of the district of San Francisco that you are walking through. You get plenty of samples at the different stores. You can try special kinds of chocolate (i.e. basil chocolate). It is also a great opportunity to buy gifts. I highly recommend it!

GREAT CHOCOLATE AND GREAT INFORMATION *****
This was a really fun, informative tour about the origins of chocolate and some of the best chocolatiers in the world. Great history about San Francisco interspersed throughout, along with random chocolate trivia and generous chocolate tastings. The only tough part was selecting the chocolates to taste at each stop... so many choices, so little time!

Chocoholic heaven! *****
Great fun! Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable, eager to answer questions about San Francisco and chocolate. Generous sampling of chocolate left me wanting no more (difficult to achieve with me and chocolate!) Timing of each stop was great--although I would've liked more time at first shop in order to browse the goodies and possibly make a purchase. Blind taste testing was informative--who would've thought chocolate has so many nuances?! I highly recommend this tour for anyone who dreams in chocolate.

Very Enjoyable & Informative *****
Andrea's done a terrific job putting together a tour that showcases both San Francisco and the burgeoning artisan chocolate industry. The tour covered all aspects of chocolate-making. It was informative & delicious. It's well worth the price, and would be a great gift for any chocolate-lover.

Chocolate Paradise *****
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. As a chocolate lover, I never knew how much information was available about chocolate and how unique it was. We tasted more than I ever expected and each treat was better than the last. I highly recommend this tour!!!

Sweet!! *****
Fantastic experience that blends fun and information as perfectly as a fleur de sel truffle blends sweet and savory. The knowledgeable guide opened my eyes (and mouth!) to the history of chocolate, the process of making it and--best of all--how to taste the complexities of it. I got far more chocolate than I expected--more than I could eat. We discovered lots of shops I never knew existed and even learned about San Francisco history and architecture on the way. I strongly recommend this tour to anyone with the slightest interest in chocolate.

Chocolate Epiphany *****
I've lived in San Francisco for a dozen years and never knew the city held such a trove of chocolate hot spots. I usually avoid tours or anything guided, but at each stop I was really shocked by how little I knew about something I've eaten my entire life. The highlight of the tour for me was the blind tasting at Fog City. I leaned towards one brand with 70% cacao, and now have a stash of my newly discovered favorite bars from the Rhone valley in the fridge. Tip: Pace yourself! Some of the best chocolate comes at the last few stops of the tour.

Interesting and Yummy *****
I went on a Gourmet Chocolate Walking Tour this weekend, and it was such a nice time! There was a small group of us (5), for our 3-hour tour, we went to the Ferry Building, up to Fog City News on Market then finished up in Union Square. Andrea did a great job (for only her 2nd tour), giving us interesting chocolate information, chatting us up and offering up some great SF history, without it seeming forced. It was like she was a friend hosting us around the city. At each place, we got samples and a few treats to take home. Some of us in the group probably ate 8 truffles that day (ugh), but I saved mine away like a smart little squirrel and I can't wait for them to sustain me thru the week. This is a great thing to do as a local or as a visitor. I went to places that I've walked by a zillion times, but have never been in. And seriously, who can say no to chocolate?

Guilt-Free Chocolate *****
I love eating chocolate, but I would not consider myself a connoisseur. This tour provided all the information I would need to become an informed chocolate taster. The ample tasting portions were delicious, and I didn't feel guilty enjoying them for the sake of education. Walking between locations also erased any guilt I might have felt about indulging my chocolate addiction. In addition to sampling chocolate, I learned about the production of chocolate and some San Francisco history. This tour is a great way to both taste the creations of the best local and foreign chocolate makers and see the city.
